One of the most important amphibians that are found in Oiti is the alpine newt or mountain newt (Triturus alpestris), which, also, belongs to the threatened with extinction species in Greece. It is met in permanent or temporary wetlands of high altitudes, such as small ponds, brooks and other points where stagnant waters or low-flow waters exist.
O Φορέας Διαχείρισης Εθνικού Δρυμού Οίτης, Κοιλάδας Σπερχειού Και Μαλιακού Κόλπου ενσωματώθηκε στον Οργανισμό Φυσικού Περιβάλλοντος και Κλιματικής Αλλαγής (Ο.ΦΥ.ΠΕ.Κ.Α.) σύμφωνα με την υπ’ αριθμ. ΥΠΕΝ/ΔΝΕΠ/4261/208/9-2-2022 απόφαση (ΦΕΚ 1056/Β/10-3-2022).
